In the recent20years, with the development of our social economy, traffic science and technology of China has made great progress. With the implementation of the western development strategy of China, highway construction is moving toward the western mountainous area, hills and other complex terrain regions. Due to the complicated and diversified of the terrain, the bridges and the tunnels hold the very great proportion in the mountainous area road, and during the design of bridge-road connection segment, the designers have to reduce the technical specifications in order to reduce the total cost. According to a large number of on-site investigation and study, the driving security in bridge-road connection segment is generally low, but the research on these aspects is less in China at present, there is no standard for system-specific provisions of this region. Therefore, this thesis did a lot of research on mountain area highway bridge road segment as follows:â‘ Collecting and analyzing some codes and technical materials about bridge-road connection segment, in which, the focus is bridge-tunel connection segment, summarized the accident characteristic distribution of time, configuration and model.â‘¡From the information research and characteristic analysis of accidents,we obtained the main factors which impact safety traffic of the bridge-road connection segment in mountain road, and established traffic safety evaluation index system of bridge-road section in mountain road and hierarchical structure model with the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).â‘¢Firstly, the paper generated judgment matrix of safety influence factor of bridge-road connection segment in mountain road using expert investigation method. Secondly, assessed the relative weights of evaluation index with the help of the computer. Finally, explained the process of traffic safety evaluation of bridge-road connection segment in mountain road in detail used fuzzy comprehensive evaluation by a calculation example.
