The bridge safety evaluation is gradually popular topic in recent years. As we know, a great deal of world-wide bridges has served for a long time and its safety make person doubt because of various disease and the breakage of different extent. In fact, the important economy lost with human body dead and injured affairs which was causede by the hidden trouble in safey had happened frequent in domestic and international. Most of the bridges built in our country in the last 10 years are for the modernization, and their investment is enormous and their function is important, also their safety cause the high concern in everyone. It can avoid the the disaster result in bridge usual use. It is an effective approach to reduce the malignant accident. It can not only make the expense which is used in bridge maintenance get the reasonable application but also avoid the loss because of the construction deformation and the close transportation and the blight in society. Evaluating the existing bridge safety impersonally and accurately is important premise to judge whether a bridge still can be competent to bearing loads or not, and do some work in time to maintain, reinforce fittingly or reconstruct.On the base of the summarization and analysis of domestic and international bridge safety evaluation theories and methods, aimed at the present condition of having no related literature to classify the evaluation methods yet currently, classified them in detail from the practical angles, and contrasted the merit and shortcoming of each method and pointed out its applicability. The purpose is to help the estimator to keep clear train of thoughts] and choose the fit method according to the actual circumstance in the actual evaluation work.Because the bridge safety evaluation methods are numerous and involve many related theories, introduced related theories knowledge to the point in terms of the actual situation, emphasis on the introduction of the key technique which is modified in the actual evaluation work.In order to explain the usage of particular method in actual evaluation work, there is the bridge example to point out the usage of every method. In the research, on the base of the advanced practical evaluation method international and the current criterion in our country, gave out the propositional evaluation method.At the end of this paper, depending on LiuLin bridge in HeDa road in LiaoNing province as a actual project, referring to Loading Test Evaluation Report of LiuLin Bridge in HeDa Road in LiaoNing Province, using it's load examination data, it evaluated it's safety by five different kinds of methods in common use and analyzed and contrasted the effect of each method. Finally, built up the current bridge safety evaluation system in our country in the light of simple, practical and accurate principle. It will operate on the bridge safety evaluation work as the certain reference in future.
