Along with the development of high grade highway network, maintenance andmanagement issues about it is payed more and more attention to. It is expected that thehigh grade highway in our country given priority to construction, will change intoconstruction and maintenance simultaneously, and then will gradually change into themaintenance primarily in the future for a long time. How to keep the road network intactand constantly improve the technology conditions of high grade highway, how to reducethe cost of maintenance, to cause service life of the highway to be prolonged, how tomake the high grade highway speed, convenient, safe and comfortable, and how tomake the role of the high grade highway for economic development to provide moregood transportation function and service played well are the important topics ofhighway maintenance.On these basises, preventive maintenance, which is a kind of new technology concept,emerges at the right moment. Each related highway management unit in our country isgradually application of this new technology, which can encourage pavement servicelevel get better maintenance, reduce the cost of maintenance reasonably, and make theservice life of the road be prolonged. But, compared with foreign countries, the idea andthe practice about the usability prediction and maintenance decision is still at thebeginning stage in our country, especially the high grade highway pavement in themountainous area.Because of the complex and heavy traffic of the high grade highway in themountainous area in our country, researching on usability prediction and maintenancedecision of the high grade highway pavement in the mountainous area based onpreventive maintenance will help the decision-making departments optimizing thepreventive maintenance strategy of the high grade highway pavement, will promote theidea of the preventive maintenance, and, to some extent, will perfect the pavementmanagement system of the high grade highway in the mountainous area.First, via reading some data and surveying the construction site, investigates andstudies the damage phenomenons of high grade highway pavement in the mountainousarea, and introduces the relevant concepts of the preventive maintenance.And then introduces the evaluation indexs of usability prediction of the high gradehighway pavement in the mountainous area. Then summarizes the experience of establishing pavement usability prediction model before and analyses the rules ofusability prediction decay of high grade highway pavement with the yukun highwayto rely on.It establishes a BP forecast model based on Matlab technology, and forecastesthe usability of high grade highway pavement in the mountainous area based on thepreventive maintenance. Finally based on the prediction model, analyzes the measuresabout the preventive maintenance to the high grade highway in the mountainous area,summes up the influence factors and the decision-making method, and establishes themulti-level fuzzy comprehensive decision of high grade highway pavement in themountainous area based on the the preventive maintenance.
