The Research On The Application Of Cat Culture In Modern Product Design

The human beings have kept close ties with the animals since it was born. The animalshave become a cultural symbol during the process as we attach our emotions to the animals.We have been delivering the name of the animals and their images to our daily life to expresssome particular meanings for a long time. As the social civilization goes on, people pay moreand more attention to the nature and the meaning of life.Cat culture has been more and more mentioned home and abroad. Cat culture has become aresearch subject as there are some literature and documents on it. Cat culture is thecomplicated relationship between cats and human beings, and the impact brought about by therelationship. It also involves the biological research, such as anatomical research,thremmatological research, behavior psychological research, etc. In the field of art design, catis used as a particular symbol to convey a great variety of meanings. This phenomenon is justlike the Chinese bamboo culture. The bamboo is a kind of plants which grows according tothe natural law, but people endow it with a lot character not belonging to its nature.This paper analyzes the role transition of the cat in human society and the human emotionprojection to the cat. Then the artistic works relative with cats are rounded analyzed to extractthe symbolic meanings of the cat, and the means of artistic expression of cats in major stylesof art. Based on the analysis on the situation of the existing cat culture products, this paperexpounds the method of the application of the cat culture in modern product design, beingaimed to rich the design ideas of cat culture products and expand the cat culture carriers，thusto satisfy people’s emotional and spiritual needs and develop the cat culture.
