With the development of technology and the increase of the applicationrequirement, the modern satellites are widely used, and maximum capacity of loadincreased, and the number of the objects need to be measured and controlled increaseddramatically. In order to meet the rising application demand, reduce the cost ofspacecraft launching, and get the maximization functions under the current liftingcapability of rocket, RTU with miniaturization must be enforced. With the increase offunctions and performance, the high reliability should also be considered especially.Therefore, the future satellite must have the characteristics of high reliability andminiaturization.The task is our Institute’s Innovative project, whcih is progressed and developedfor upgrading RTU of satellite platform.It is expatiated that optimize the original RTUequipment by modularization design. FPGA and AISC are adopted to improve theintegration of every function module. We adopted several directional measures toenhance the reliability of RTU, including mistake-command proofing, fault isolationdesign, redundant design, anti-radiation design, EMC design and mechano-electricalunification design, and after theoretical analysis, experiments and test, the resultsdemonstrated that functions and reliability index meet the intended goal.
