With the continuous construction and growth of automotive industry, China hasbecome the biggest country in auto manufacture and consumption. Especially in the recentyears, the independent brand is rising and developing in a rapid speed, which requires us topay much attention and focus on the vehicle research&development procedure and keylayout technology.Safety、Comfort、Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection are eternal theme andtarget in modern auto research and development. Ergonomics in vehicle layout is quiterelated to the internal effective room and the occupants comfort and safety. Moreover,ergonomics has an effect on styling, which leads to the vehicle commodification. Therefore,Ergonomics plays an important role in auto research and development field, and shows thepeople-oriented design concept in the modern world.Through the introduction of the ergonomics development status at home and abroad,the domestic mandatory regulation and technical requirement, and the graduallyaccumulated data and experience in the process of auto research and development, thisarticle does research on the problems which turned up in the process of ergonomics layout.What’s more, combined with the corresponding design index and evaluation index, thisarticle also provides powerful theoretical evidence for the new car models development.Human percentile means the percentile of the objective human which a certain basicbody parameter is applied to, that is to say, it’s a kind of cumulative probability of basicbody dimension normal distribution. Nowadays, the American auto industry relevantregulation rules the usage of95%manikin in auto research and development, the European50%, and the Japanese rules the usage of JSAE or SAE depending on differentrequirements. This article will use the SAE manikin to analyze and do research on theergonomics layout. RAMSIS is a kind of computer aided digital system software, which is equipped withmanikin; body average growth manikin; body measurement; body gesture simulation;animation effect; interference check; view analysis; body comfort analysis; data system and3D measurement system. Therefore, this article will use RAMSIS to analyze and optimizethe ergonomics.Based on the theoretical guidance and real car validation, this article carries on a seriesof ergonomics analysis on the new SUV, for example: the determination of H point, thelayout of front and rear seats, the determination of the seat travel, the cluster layout, thesteering wheel layout, the IP layout, the brake pedal layout, the acceleration pedal layout,the clutch pedal layout, the analysis of ingress and express comfort, and the introduction ofrelevant regulation. At the early stage of vehicle R&D and engineer design, static subjectiveevaluation should be done to the ergonomics in the use of simulation software, in order tofind the problems in time and change the design. At the stage of prototype test,some itemsof ergonomics layout need not only the real car measurement, but also the static anddynamic subjective evaluation, to ensure the real feeling and man-machine effect ofdifferent people. If there is any problem, measures can be made or modified timely.Subjective evaluation should invite very experienced staffs, to improve the accuracy ofevaluation and the convenience of guiding the layout..Through the research and analysis on the method of ergonomics layout, and thediscussion and practice of the benchmark, this article has collected much SUV data ofrelevant models. In addition to the actual developing SUV, and the analysis andoptimization of RAMSIS, this article also summarizes some research about ergonomicslayout and some data and relevant items about subjective evaluation, which accumulateprecious experience and instructive signification in the same car model research anddevelopment.
