With the rapid changes in technology, electronic measurementinstruments and systems are rapid progress. Virtual Instrument Technologyin the call of time, shows up. With the rapid development of computertechnology, virtual instrument technol-ogy as its associatedtechnology, has more and more applications in the field of elec-tronicmeasurement. It uses modern rapid software technology, with decadescontinue to accumulate, and constantly enrich modular hardware, has madebrilliant achieve-ments in the field of electronic measurement. And italso trends to replace traditional instruments. The traditional datadomain test system for its expensive price, a huge body, a single functionthat discourage many universities and laboratories. Therefore, thesubject gives a new data domain testing system design.The Data Domain Testing System designed by the subject is based onthe platform of the VIIS-EM and the virtual instrument technology. It isused for the logical characteristics of the digital system, the logiclevel and the logic timing mea-surement. VIIS-EM platform is a set oftest systems which is independent researched and developed by the virtualinstrument laboratory of Jilin University. It combined the source, thesignals in time domain and frequency domain measurements, the logicalanalysis and the networked applications as a system. It also provided acommon, fast, low-cost reconfigurable test platform for the universityteaching and industrial production.The design of the virtual data domain testing system contains a virtuallogic analyzer and a virtual digital signal generator. The host computerinterface is written in LABVIEW software. Graphical programmingenvironment is extremely favorable openness and efficiency, subroutineand function modules can be independently added. Its hardware is made bymodular analog circuits, including data acquisition module,microprocessor module and FPGA module. The modular structure greatlyenhanced the reconfigurable and the compatibility of the system. Circuitboards loaded into the VIIS-EM system platform through the bus which isindependently developed by the laboratory. The system communicated withthe host computer via USB. The experimental results show that the wholesystem is powerful and high accuracy,it can measure the digital circuitor system in a certain frequency range. It meets the experimentalrequirements.
