Research On The Quality Control Of Tanggu Forth Middle School Reconstruction Project

With the development of construction industry，the quality of the constructionprojects has attracted people`s wide attention．Same as the other products`qualities,the quality of the construction projects is related to both the development ofnational economy and the benefits of ourselves．Poor quality of the constructionprojects will results in some serious consequences. For many years，the quality of theconstruction projects is always a most important problem in project management．The quality control of the construction projects is related to the benefits amongthe project owner, the designing company, the construction company and the projectsupervision company. Successful controlling the quality of the construction projects isthe common responsibility for each party. During the actual operation, each partyconcern different emphasis with their different positions.The Tanggu Forth Middle School Reconstruction Project was conducted byTanggu education department. It was established from June,2010. The project wasformal constructed from Oct,2010and completed in Sep,2012. The constructionperiod is27months. The total investment is70million RMB, which was funded byTanggu government. The project is located at a21546.8m2area surrounded byXiangyang North Branch, Xiangyang North Street and Xiangyang West Street. Theconstruction target includes the destructions of old buildings, the destructions ofrelated equipments, the constructions of new buildings, new offices for the teachers,new gym, new restaurants and new related equipments. The project is reasonable,economical and beautiful. It is designed unified and in compliance with the currentnational norms and regulations. It is successfully combined with the local constructionenvironment.This research will analyze the quality management and control process ofconstruction projects by using the Tanggu Forth Middle School ReconstructionProject as a case study. The first chapter describes the research background and themain concept of this article. The second chapter provides the theoretical basis of thestudy. The third chapter briefly describes the quality management problems among the owner, the employer and the construction side during the operation of the TangguForth Middle School Reconstruction Project. The forth chapter gives the solutions forthe problems found in the third chapter, and then analyzes the consequents by usingthe solutions. As the end of the article, the fifth chapter conclude the whole researchand provides the outlook for this study sector.From our research, we find that when facing the balance of the cost, time and thequality of the project, each party of the project would all chasing their own benefits.For maximizing their own profits, they always attempt to break the rules or theagreements in the contracts, or take the advantages of the loopholes. However, thesekinds of operations always result in the loss of the operators instead of the benefit,reduce the quality of the whole construction project from the long term view. Tosolute these problems, on one hand, the project manager shall clearly understand theprocess and the responsibilities of each party, completely obey the requirements in thecontracts, be responsible during the real operations, be able to solute the problemsflexibly and complete the missions with systematical concept of quality control andproject management. On the other hand, The whole society shall improve their moraland specification consciousness，reject to break the rules and stop violating law anddiscipline. We shall always remember that the quality will be the most important thingforever.
