With the rapid development of our country’s economy and society, the road transportation developed rapidly. To adapt to the increase of traffic and vehicle load, asphalt pavements with semi-rigid base gradually become the mainstream in height class pavements, with its high bearing capacity and relatively low cost. It is very popular in municipal roads. In our country, Cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures is the main one of semi-rigid base material. They have good stability, frost resistance, structure itself independent board body, and many other advantages. However, in actual use, it is difficult to solve the problem of cracks. This paper aimed at the cracks of the cement stable macadam materials in municipal roads. From the performance of materials, this paper investigated and researched the municipal roads in Yangzhou, improved the crack resistance of cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures by adding polypropylene fibers. And the purpose of this paper was to improve the status of the road surface, prolong the service life, and reduce maintenance costs. This paper analyzed the present situation of the development of the municipal roads and cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures in Yangzhou. In view of the municipal road engineering characteristics, this paper analyzed the application prospect in municipal roads of cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures adding polypropylene fibers. The result showed that, application of this material in municipal roads was of important meaning. In accordance with the relevant requirement of municipal roads engineering, raw materials were tested. The mixture ratio was determined by the screening test and the compaction test. And the polypropylene fiber dosage ranges were selected. Indirect tensile tests, dry shrinkage tests and temperature shrinkage tests were conducted on different dosage of polypropylene fibers in cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures. And it was comprehensively analyzed that the influence of the dosage of polypropylene fiber to the crack resistance of cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures. Based on the contrast analysis, the dosage of polypropylene fibers was determined on1‰. On this dosage, the crack resistance of this material was obviously improved.By ABAQUS finite element software, it was analyzed that the stress status of the cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures adding polypropylene fibers in the action of changes in temperature, humidity and vehicle load. And the crack-resistance was evaluated by comparison with the ordinary cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures. The result showed that, the crack resistance of the material was improved by fiber.Based on the lab tests and the analysis of finite element software, this paper paved a test road in one of municipal roads in Yangzhou. The construction technology of cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures adding polypropylene fibers was determined, including dosing, mixing, transportation, rolling and curing a construction technology. And then we analyzed the actual performance in pavement structures by the detection of the test road. At the same time, based on the test road engineering, we calculated and analyzed the construction cost of the cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures adding polypropylene fibers. And the long-term economic benefit was evaluated.Based on investigation, laboratory tests, analysis by ABAQUS, and the test road paving and testing, this article systematically studied the crack resistance of the cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures adding polypropylene fibers. And this provided reference information for using this material in municipal roads.
