With the country urbanization advancement speeds up unceasingly，the survivalcondition of minority traditional settlements faced with serious test．It is urgency thatregarding the minority traditional settlement and the minority traditional residenceprotection as research topic．This thesis taking the Xiao Zhai village as the object ofstudy which is the monst integrated ancient Hong Yao minority stronghold inLongSheng county．Passing through a Large number of the on-spot investigation, thisthesis is trying to research the location and layout of Xiao Zhai village, thecharacteristics of public buildings, the plane, space, form, decorative arts, buildingstructure of traditional architecture and the protection and so on which begins with therelationships of the nature environment ang the humanities environment with theminority traditional settlement and residence.This thesis first proposed the starting point about studying the Xiao Zhai villageand the minority traditional residence，the research significance，the research content，theresearch technique and the theory basis of this theme．Introduce the nature and thehumanities background of Xiao Zhai village,such as geographical position， naturalenvironment,religion,forms of social organization, way of production and life. Thensystem analysis the form and feature of Xiao Zhai village，including village location,the overall layout of village, the road system and node space,of village and so on．Thethird part is to detailed discuss all kinds of Xiao Zhai village’s publicbuildings．Meanwhile analyzed the Plane combinations, building space in the form,decorative arts, architectural structures about Xiao Zhai village’s residence．Finallyanalyzed the present situation,value and protection of Xiao Zhai village.In one word, this paper deep discuss the formation and evolution, location,spatial pattern, street space of Xiao Zhai village and the feature of Xiao Zhai village’straditional architecture from the angle of history, geography, urban planning,architecture and cultural heritage protection perspective. In order to better tap thevalue of Xiao Zhai village, characteristics and cultural connotations in order to bettertap the value, characteristics and cultural connotations of Xiao Zhai village.
