Crane which is used in material handling is used in many places,such as machinerymanufacture,metallurgy,steel making and containerized shipment. The thesis,by the study ofthe Ben Gang’s40/10t-28.3m cranes,with theory guidance of the finite element method,structural mechanics, dynamics, elastic-plastic mechanics, fracture mechanics and so on. Bymeans of ANSYS software,by the use of mathematical modeling and computer simulationapproach combining. The paper, which analysis static characteristics of this type of crane bymeans of theoretical calculation and finite element analysis, and analysis dynamic characteristicsof the crane more deeply. On the basis of the results of previous studies,discusses the fatigue lifeof crane estimate formula further. This thesis mainly discussed as follows:1) Checks the stiffness, strength, stability of the crane. The paper discusses basic parameters,calculation loads and work characteristics of the crane. According to "The crane designspecification", calculates and checks the stiffness, strength, stability of the girder and thestrength of legs and the overall stability of the crane detailed,with material mechanics andstructural mechanics. In various working conditions, obtains the stress situation of crane girderand the whole stability of the crane.2) Study on the static characteristics of the crane.The paper sketches the finite elementtechnology and introduces finite element analysis software ANSYS detailed. It illustrates unittypes and the corresponding geometric structure characteristics in the actual application ofANSYS analysis, so as to building models the finite element model of the whole structure crane.Using this model, discusses the stress situation of the structure in several typical workingconditions. We get the door machine structure static deformation and stress distribution, so as tocompare with2D mechanics calculation.3) Study on the dynamic characteristics of the crane.ANSYS is used for analyzing themodal of the whole machine structure, in order to identify the vibration characteristic anddynamic rigidity of the whole structure. Through the transient dynamics analysis, identifies thechange of the main girder displacement response with time. It concludes that damping inhibitcrane vibration and the relationship between load time and crane system vibration4) Life estimation of the girder.Fracture mechanics is used to revise the intensity factor andfatigue crack expansion-situation formula. It discusses the expansion-situation of linear elasticcrack in the constant amplitude and random luffing load and the expansion-situation of elastic-plastic crack in small scale yielding, so as to deduce residual life estimate formula moreaccord with the actual. The study has important significance for estimating others crane girders’life.
