In the recent years, China’s transportation industry has obtained the rapiddevelopment, and there are more and more bridges, which are across the rivers or sea,are being planned, designed, constructed. But with the impact of the increasingship-bridge collisions, how to effectively reduce accidents’ frequency and the losscaused by accidents has got the attention of public. Compared with foreign studies, ourstudies on ship-bridge collisions started later, and some theoretical foundation alsowasn’t enough mature. So we need to make more endeavor not only to enrich andperfect the theory system of ship-bridge collision, but also to serve the future bridges’construction. In this thesis, with the help of a constructed bridge pier, we usedABAQUS to simulate and analyze the ship-bridge collision. The main studies includethe following aspects:①On the summary and analysis of the existing research achievements aboutship-bridge collisions, we introduced and discussed the key technology of finite-elementapplication.②With the help of collision accident simulated by ABAQUS between the actualconstructed rectangular pier and the boat, we summarized and analyzed many problemswhich need to pay attention to modeling. Combined with energy change anddisplacement, we analyzed the crashed rectangular pier’s integral stress and regionalstress. After that, we studied the stress’s size and distribution which had be caused bydirect contact or whole pier’s bending, and comparatively analyzed their harmful degreeto bridge.③After understanding of various factors which affect ship-bridge collision, andcombination with three forms of the common bridges, we simulated different piersunder the same collision. We comparatively analyzed that collision had influence on thethree kinds of piers in terms of piers’ damage caused by directly crash, forcetransmission on piers and force’s effect on the pile foundations. So effective suggestionof different bridge piers’ choice can be given to the navigable waters.
