Abstract/Summary:
The approach channel is to be located in the upstream and downstream of thenavigation structures, and to be used as the transitional passage to guide the shipsecurity in and out of the building. Due to the limit of the terrain, many approachchannels of the hydropower hinge were built in the form of curves. Calculate of theneeded navigation wide when ships passing through the bending approach channel,which plays the vital significance to the safe navigation of ships. In recent decades,many corresponding research had made by the Scientific Research Organizations athome and abroad, the results brings great convenience to the widen work of bendingapproach channel’s regulation. But there was a shortage that the leeway angle beingused, all needed to come from the experiment, not with mathematics methodcalculated. The main purpose of this article is to explore a concise and accuratemathematical formula, which can calculate the drift angle and the navigation wideneeded for the curves according to the flow condition, the dimension and property ofships.The development history and the current situation of the bending approachchannel width had been systematically analyzed in this paper, and then the maininfluence factors of the bending width, which contains the drift angle, the yawdistance, the rich width, the velocity, the channel accounted for wide, the wind etc.had been determined. The following research had been taken after combing with thenavigation model test of Ling corners and Huangling temple corner in the researchproject of the “West Traffic Construction Science and Technology Project-InlandNavigation Conditions Key Technology”.Due to the needed navigation wide of the ship sailing in bending approach wereinfluenced by many factors, the main factors had been found out according to theexisting material, the calculation model of the needed width to the curves had beenestablished by using the linear regression and multivariate linear regression functionanalysis, and the corresponding hypotheses had been putted forward to testify itsreliability.The calculation analysis of the track and drift angle to the ship sailed in bendingapproach channel, were obtained from the water power and its dynamic torquefunctioned on the ship, used to ascertain the required navigation channel width of theship in the vessel, and then, to verify the calculation model which had beenestablished previously.
