Research Of Expressway System Planning Of Changchun City

With the constantly increasing of Chinese economy and the motor vehicle quantities,and the total amount of traffic demand rapid growth, produce more transportation andlead to serious traffic jams. Urban road network is very crucial for urban transportation.Reasonable road network is necessary for the smooth traffic of a city, so the urban roadnetwork system planning is very important. With the characteristic of large volume andspeed, urban expressway is the skeleton of the urban road network. It can quickly easethe congestion of the city internal vehicle in the urban road network and effectivelyalleviate the serious traffic congestion problems.Combining with the actual traffic of Changchun city, this paper analyzes the presenttraffic condition, condition of the land, the distribution of people living and employment,residents’ travel characteristics, the characteristics of the traffic flow and so on. Based onthe data of the current, the social and economic development, residents travel amount,freight amount and motor vehicle quantities are forecasted. The previous expresswaysystem planning is discussesed. Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Jinan, Nanjing and other cities’expressway system model are studied. From the above several structure of urbanexpressway system, we can know that urban expressway system should be closelyintegrated with foreign transportation system. The main factors，which have influence tothe planning of expressway system are also studied in this paper. Considering expresswaysystem planning period, principles, objectives and the main influence factors, this papergenerates high density scheme and medium density scheme. In order to make theexpressway system planning results in line with the requirements of the development ofthe Changchun city and ensure the smooth realization of the function of Changchunexpressway system, this paper make the traffic test on the two programs. Comparing theresults of traffic test and considering the urban land property, engineering cost, impact ofthe environmental, properties of the road and so on, medium density program isrecommended as the planning scheme Changchun city expressway system.Based on the planning of the expressway system, this paper discusses the necessityand importance of the recent construction of the expressway system, and analyzes theinfluence factors of expressway construction sequence. This paper puts forward an ideathat it is feasible to build rapid transit corridor in the center of the city to form the initialexpressway network, then make full use of the advantages of expressway system, which can quickly dredge transit traffic and effectively relieve the traffic pressure in the centerof city.
