With the development of modern lighting technology, solid-state light source, which isnot only energy-saving, environmentally friendly, but also safe, stable, gradually becomes anew development trend of lighting area. With the emergence of high-power andhigh-illumination LED, solid-state light source takes the place of traditional light source,which now becomes the mainstream lighting mode.With the constantly increasing power of LED that is applyed to the field of lighting,some problems are revealed. LED has low efficiency at present, most of the input powertransforms into heat, causing the problem of over-high LED operating temperature. Too highLED operating temperature can cause some problems, such as leakage current of componentincreases, performance index deteriorates, semiconductor material defects grow, and metalelectrodes migrate, which seriously impact the working performance and using life of LED,and even cause the damage of lighting installations. Therefore, controlling the operatingtemperature and reducing the power consumption is currently a urgent solved question ofLED lighting.Aiming to problems of LED lighting at the moment, we designs and realizes an adaptivewhite LED lighting system based on SOPC. According to the characteristics of LED, thissystem achieves the optimal control of lighting effect using external environmenttemperature、light intensity and other informations, and at the same time, when LED is insuitable brightness, reduce the energy loss of LED and working temperature as much aspossible in order to improve working stability and flexibility of LED lighting equipment, andprolong its service life.Adaptive white LED lighting system consists of inspection module, control module anddriver module. Inspection module can collect the external environment information about thesystem. Driver module can drive LED to work. Control module is the core of the system, itreceives inspection module’s data, and automaticly adjusts the output of driver module basedon the data. FPGA is the core of the system’s hardware circuit, the embedded SOPC systemand internal control procedures are respectively designed with Verilog HDL language andfuzzy control algorithm.After the design and implementation of the complete system, we tested its variousperformance indicators in the actual environment, and compared with existing LED lightingequipments, fully verified the feasibility and stability of the system in the actual environment.
