Research On A Method Of Bus Rapid Transit Planning In Metropolis

With the development of economic, the urbanization and motorizationprocess have been accelerated, it is convenience for the residents but also havemany negative effects, traffic congestion as one of them is becoming aworldwide problem, and it is proved that the development of public transportwith large capacity, speed etc.. But for the high cost it can not be used widely.Rail rapid transit system has the same features, and relatively low cost, it isworth to promote as a public transportation.This thesis firstly take rapid transit from its own features, introduced theconcept of rapid transit system, and its benefits, but pay more attention to itsmain elements, including lines, vehicles, sites and so on.Secondly, introduced the concept of demand forecasting and analyzed thefactors affecting public transport. It is based on the four traditional stagesmethod, comparing structure model of rech stage to clear the scope prediction,to point out the problems and make recommendations.Thirdly, analyze the network structure and size of rapid transit lines. Through the study of its impact factors, to make requirement for the design ofrapid transit lane and give specific methods. Summarize the layout method ofnetwork, after determining the line spacing and line network to make optimisticanalyze. Based on a mathematical model, it can used simple and intuitivealgorithm.Finally, take Xi’an as an example, based on analyzing the traffic situationof Xi’an, to point out its planning problem and way to improve it.
