The raw-soil building is a kind of green eco-building, it is widely used in town andvillage building structure.Our country launched a project of renovation for rural dilapidatedbuilding in2009. This paper discovered that Safety evaluation on raw-soil structure houseswere one of the priorities of the village renovation of dilapidated houses because of its worstseismic performance through town and village deteriorated houses research. So study of thevillage and town houses’ safety evaluation is one of the focus for renovation of ruraldilapidated building. Both "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and "12th Five-Year Plan" of ourcountry stressed the new rural construction. Therefore, safety evaluation on a large number ofthe existing raw-soil building is important to investment decisions of state and localgovernments and ensure the farmer live and work better. Current safety situation of theexisting town and village raw-soil structure houses is that our country have neither qualitativenor quantitative evaluation methods. So safety evaluation of existing raw-soil structure housesmust be studied urgently.This paper analysed the characteristics of safety evaluation methods for three types ofexisting structures and the reasons that the present specification had taken the evaluationmethod based on structure condition assessment to evaluate the safety of the existingstructures, presented two types of evaluation methods that the present specification had takenwhich were fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and the force transmission tree analysis,analysed the shortcomings of the present evaluation standards, used the analytic hierarchyprocess (AHP) to adjust the weight values in the"Standard for appraisal of dangerousbuildings", pointed out the shortcomings of the force transmission tree method, simplified themodel of the force transmission tree, put forward the safety evaluation process for the existingraw-soil structure houses, pointed out the importance of site risk appraisal in the entire house,provided the definition and classification of the force transmission tree and a single member,specified detection tools and methods, analysed the introduction of the concept of the forcetransmission tree to quantitative comprehensive evaluation method for existing raw-soilstructure houses from four aspects:security level assessment of the structural members,sub-units, the force transmission trees and the entire house. And took a two-floor raw-soil structure folk house’s safety evaluation as an example to explain the application of thisevaluation method.After summarizing the research, this paper shows the quantitative comprehensiveevaluation method which has introduced the concept of the force transmission tree for existingraw-soil structure houses. And portions of this article research has been applied to the researchof National Eleventh Five-Year Technology support subject-"Standard for safety appraisal ofexisting residential buildings in town and village"(draft for approval) which belongs to ChinaEngineering Construction Standardization Association and can afford theoretical and technicalsupport for the reinforcement and reconstruction of dilapidated raw-soil structure houses.
