Research On Protection Of Historic District Under The Perspective Of Urban Design

Historic District is valuable asset of a city, and also the source of the charm of a city, therapid development of the city bring physical pleasure to us, however, at the same time,people forget the most attractive part of the city, the historic district waning and the moderncities become no different from one to another. Nowadays, people began to realize theimportance of the historic district, but found that the protection and update of the block is notas simple as imagined.The traditional protective planning control the land use from two-dimensional level, butthe urban design emphasize the design of the three-dimensional physical environment. Onthe basis of learning and concluding the relevant theory and the research at home and abroad,this article takes the physical space and the human environment for study areas, using themethod of urban design to build a protective strategy under the perspective of urban design.The protective strategy is build from four dimensions, the reconstruction of the spaceorder, the protection of the architectural style, the dynamic establishment of the spaceand the heritage of the local spirit. First, the reconstruction of the space order including threeareas such as the analysis of the spatial structure, the traffic organization of the lanes, and thecontinuation of the neighborhoods texture; Second, the protection of the architectural styleproposed the means and methods to protect the architectural style from the design of newbuildings, the transformation of the original buildings, as well as the relationships of the oldand the new buildings; then the article discussed the space, the interface, the node and thescale of the alleys and courtyard to create the vitality of the neighborhood place; Finally, thearticle proposed insights and ideas to the heritage of local spirit from the integrationof the historic environment and the protection of the cultural characteristics.The end of the article takes the protective plan of the Ming Taiyuan county historicdistrict as an example, demonstrate the strategy that was built previously, and express theimportant role of urban design in the protection of the historic district once again.
