With the national economy prospering and the urbanization process accelerating, China’surban areas gradually is expanding, urban economy is growing and the urban population isincreasing. For changing the model of development that have one nuclear and many formsstep by step, many central cities put forward the new development model of more core and anumber of vice-development centers, so that the formation of “bigalopolis” is coming forthin our country, which consisting of a central city and a number of satellite towns. Because abatch of new “satellite towns” are emerging around many big cities. The choice oftransportation patterns between satellite town and central town is constructing, that could notonly meet the traffic demand between satellite town and central town, but also strengthenexternal radiation of central city and promote the exertion of satellite towns roundly, whichis related to continuable development between satellite town and central town.Combined qualitative and qualitative methods, this paper uses the means of AHPEvaluation, studies the transportation patterns between satellite town and central town andconstructs the selection models of transportation between satellite town and central town.Through these researches, it could provide a theoretical basis and reference for the choice oftransportation patterns.Mains elements are as follow:1.In view of the satellite towns concept and functions, this paper summarized andclassified satellite towns from multi-angle;2.Analysed the composing and influencing factors of passenger transportation streambetween satellite town and central town, thus determined calculations and formula of earlypeak demand from satellite towns to central town;3.On the base of analyzing economic and technical characteristics of severalrepresentative large transportation patterns by means of AHP Evaluation, established theselection models of transportation patterns between satellite towns and central town byprinciple of “systematic, comprehensive, objective, maneuverable”;4.Used the solutions to apply urban agglomerations, then compared and analysised theresults. On the basis of the realities, put some advice to choice of passenger traffic modesbetween satellite towns and central city.
