The designing and manufacturing technology of Automotive panel die is a core in theautomotive industry, which has also been a constraint of China’s automobile industrydevelopment as a bottleneck. The manufacturing and designing of the die base is anessential part and it requires kinds of necessary components and standard parts. So thiscould directly restricts the panel die designing and manufacturing progress. At present, diecompanies come to design the upper and lower die base mostly by hand. This duplicationof designing and modeling is a waste of manpower.In order to effectively use all kinds of practice experience, professional knowledge,and other relative information accurately design the die base of automotive panel die threetypical structure of die base was concluded after analysing and pattern plating all kinds ofclassical die base And based on these three typical structures and modular technology, itis be classified to structure pattern and function pattern. We get the information from thosetwo patterns and use the knowledge to finish the design of die base. This assay is based onanalysing different kinds of pattern, after absorbing the information, summarizing them tobe rules or frameworks, so to form an effective designing method.Based on the theoretical study, author analysed the function and needs aboutautomatic generate system of the automotive panel base, and completed the systemdesign, and then programmed the automatic generate system for die base based on UGplatform. The system includes five main parts of initialization module, databasemodule, knowledge based engineering module, feature modeling module and the detaileddesign of the module. At last an application example is given.
