In this study, my focus is on the recipients of the Aga Khan Award, especially on theanalysis of critical regional value-oriented. And the Chinese Architectural Media Award isalso has the characteristic of critical regional, so its recipients is also being interpreted.During the interpretation the methodology of morphology and typology is being used inorder to analyze their social meanings and problem-solving strategies. The richnesspresented by those works can be learned from.Because of their similarity, comparison is made between them. The comparisoninclude3parts. The first part is the comparison of operation mode which contains theprocess of recipients review, the Information disclosure, and the media intervention. Thesecond part is the comparison between the types of recipients set up by the organizers. Thelast partis the comparison between recipients. In this part the differences are moreimportant, because they can provide more suggestion to the development of the ChineseArchitectural Media Award. The Aga Khan Award has two types which the ChineseArchitectural Media Award don’t have, the preservation and the landscape which are alsovery important elements of a city’s environment, so I suggest that the ChineseArchitectural Media Award can add these two types in the future. In summary, the main objective of this study is to learn from the Aga Khan Award inorder to improve the Chinese Architectural Media Award, which can lead the wholearchitectural fields in the future.
