Research Of Residential Underground Parking Garage Design

Along with our country economy’s progress, the car possession increases rapidly,so that the residential parking demand are more and more urgent, and the undergroundparking garage for the residential communities is playing the key role in solving theproblems, so that it became the residence essential facilities. But in the current residentialcommunities in our country, the research and practice of the security, humanization andenvironmental problems in the residential quarters have just been started, and as all cansee, the most residential underground garage is still in the phase of black, dirty, andrandom. The report of the criminal activities, the lack of the concern for the disabled, theunclear of the indicating system and the dissatisfaction of the residents for the parkingenvironment have shown the situation that the current residential underground garage isunable to meet the user’s demands. How to meet the needs of the residents for theresidential underground parking garage has become the focal point of the society thatcannot be ignored.The purpose of this paper is to improve the user experience for parking in theresidential parking garage. The research object is residential parking garage. Byanalyzing the survey, the measure data and the material about the current garage research,the underground garage security, convenience and environmental problems would bediscussed, and the deep reasons should be excavated, after the process of the discussionthe three design principles involving the defensible space, humanized design andenvironmental control for the residential parking garage would be raised.Finally, by the guidance of the design principles and the corresponding theories, thesolutions for each problem would be put forward respectively. And also this thesis wouldbring the theoretical guidance for the future design of the residential parking garage.
