Study On The Strategy Of Conservation And Renewal Of Recent Industrial Heritage In Quanzhou

The topic of this thesis belongs to the research of some specific buildingcategory in the field of old building renewal, putting the point on t he contradiction between the old industrial buildings and urban development.The subjects of interest are the recent industrial heritages that are increasingly emerging in QuanZhou, but the large amount of buildings had been crocked up about their function. Our purpose is to conserving the values of the recent industrial buildings, finding a continuously evaluative way for old industrial buildings renewal underthe situation and civil history of QuanZhou.Theecologicaland physical environment have been being changes seriously in QuanZhou, such as the urban system,urban structure, space modality, the building style and so on. The status would be further enhanced andproceedin the city urbanization.With the large amount of the industrial era legacies emerging in the historical city, such asthe function transformation of local land after cityplanning result in the large amount of areas occupied by old industrialbuildings, these changes have a great conflict with the development of the industrial evolutionCompared the other old buildings(including historical and non-historicalbuildings), industrial heritages have their own distinctive characteristics,such as their special design philosophy, building technique and aesthetics value, solid constructions of main bodies, flexible spacious spaces,strongimpact on the environments during construction or destruction. Therefore, they formed an important building category in old building reuse with large maneuverability and freedom.Although the problem hasits own specialty,the investigation of their reuse approaches is of universal significance.In this thesis,by introducingtherecenthistory and its building development,we mainly research on two aspects of conservation and renewal design, are proposed with regard tothe theoretical guidance,evaluated system, renewal approaches and implementation strategies of industry heritagein QuanZhou. Along with several full-scale and important industry enterprisesto studies, we willillustrate a full picture of the conservation and renewal design in current development status, to construct a new urban system in further assorting with history, ecology, economic, environment and humanity.
