The vibration test and noise test for the whole satellite have so far been the best meansto be used to verify of satellite structure designs of satellites. With satellite structuresbecoming increasingly complex, the number of new technologies and new materials beingmore and more, and the development cycle becoming shorter and shorter, the costs andrisks of the mechanical tests of satellites have a rapid upward trend. If every design changeneeds a test of the entire satellite, R&D costs will be too expensive, while if not to carryout these tests, in case of problems, the loss would be greater. In recent years, due to therapid development of computer technology, CAE technology has become the primarymeans to verify the design of the satellite structure. But in the simulation of the satellitemonomer model by the design department, because it is difficult to accurately simulate theboundary condition, the current simulation results are quite different from the realconditions, which cannot effectively guide the designs of the satellite structures in mostcases. In addition, the commercialized CAE simulation software is too complex, and it isonly be used in the design department, causing it impossible for professional sectorsincluding the test, the technology and the manufacturing sectors to conduct co-simulationstogether with the design sectors, which has led to serious impediments to the developmentof the satellite structure designs. In current satellite development processes, the simulation accuracy of monomer modelvibration characteristics is poor, and the lack of co-simulation platforms has seriouslyhindered the development of the satellite structure designs. In order to solve thoseproblems, the article brings forth a new idea (i.e., satellite virtual vibration test) of jointsimulation of satellites and vibration table models, based on actual needs of the testdepartment of the Shanghai Institute of Satellite Engineering. We have verified itsfeasibility, and designed and developed a set of satellite virtual vibration test platform(SVT) based on real test processes, which is suitable for the design and test departments toconduct satellite vibration test co-simulations.The system developed by the article has been applied in the test department of theShanghai Institute of Satellite Engineering.
