A construction putty powder for exterior is an auxiliary material of a coat in the course ofdecoration. Its major function is make walls smooth as substrate treating material. For somereasons, little attention has been paid to its developments and applications. The present workis to develop a new high performance single component construction Flexing putty powderwith cement,fly ash,quartz powder,MC and re-dispersible emulsion powder as its mainconstitutes. Its result can be a basis to popularize cement putty.Firstly, this paper made a research on the influence of grit granularity,fly ash proportionand re-dispersible powde on performance of physical and mechanical property of powderputty. Then, the influence of different mixing quantity of cement,fly ash and re-dispersibleemulsion powder on the performances of putty was studied by orthogonal experimentaldesign,the major constitutes and mix proportion of putty was determined.Secondly, the emulsion powders,cellulose ethers,brucite fibers and organic silicon wereadded to the putty with diffent proportion by orthogonal testing method in order to study thechange of properties,which include adhesion strength,flexural strength,compressivestrength,water absorbing capacity,alkali and water resistance ability and dynamic crackresistance. Also, the modifying mechanism of the putty affected by polymers was discussedby adoptting the electron microscopy and combining the correlative theory of polymermodified concrete. Optimization scheme for proportioning of high performance powder puttywas obtained.Lastly, the nonlinear relation between adhesion strength of putty and different mixingquantity of cement、fly ash and re-dispersible emulsion powder is established by usingArtificial Neural Network. The test samples of adhesion strength of the putty were predictedby using MATLAB program, the relative error is between1.4%to7.5%, which meet therequirements of engineerings’ precision.In summary, its mechanism was discussed,correlation basic theories were found, a highperformance building putty was fabricated after systemic researching on polymer-rmodinedbuilding putty. All of the work will promote the studies of new type wall ornament materials.
