Abstract/Summary:
Steel deep beams are horizontal lateral force resisting members in order to realize themodulation of structural stiffness between steel frame and steel frame filled with shear, usinghigh strength friction grip bolt connected to steel frame. Steel deep beams achieve modulationof structural stiffness through different width and thickness. Steel deep beams protect the steelframe though energy dissipation by out-plane buckling and Material yield.The paper lay atheoretical foundation on engineering applications though experimental study, simulation,theoretical analysis and time-history dynamic analysis. The study emphases, method andconclusions of the investigation were listed as following.1. In this paper, low cyclic loading test method is employed to study on the experimentof steel deep beams of different depth-width ratio. The behavior of steel frame filled with steeldeep beams is introduced by the experiment, and the work process of the steel frame filledwith steel deep beams is precisely simulated by finite element software Ansys.2. The steel deep beams simplified as: two opposite edges with load clamped and theother two without load free.According to materials mechanics, the thesis suggestedcalculation formulas of yielding bearing capacity and initial stiffness, and the formulas aremodified with the parameters of stiffness coefficientψand the height of the plasticdevelopmentθ. Value of the parameters are also gived by modulation.Two simplified modelsof the steel deep beams are gave in order to be widely used.3. Time-history dynamic analysis of steel frame filled with steel deep beams was studied,and the main parameters include structural stiffness and height. With the change of structuralstiffness steel frame filled with steel deep beams are studied under frequent earthquakes andrare earthquakes,and the model adopts different structural arrangement.The resultsdemonstrate Steel deep beams are a effectively anti-lateral force member; The change ofstructural height will influence on the structural periods,deformation and shear distributionunder rare earthquakes.
