Study On The Strategy Of Pedestrian Traffic Planning In The Low-Carbon Perspective

Walking is the oldest travel mode of human being，beginning and end of trip are accompanied with thewalking. Walking also has exercise、communication、leisure and other function. It is not only related thewalking transportation itself to study the pedestrian traffic，but also affects the efficiency of the wholecity transportation and urban environmental quality．Inconsistent with the important role that walking playsin the urban rural living，walking is always neglected by transportation planning engineers. This not onlyled to serious conflict between walking and motor traffic, but also make the pedestrians traffic environmentworse. In addition, the pedestrians are also hard to get the security. At present people pay attention to thesustainable development of city, so they put forward low carbon traffic development idea and walking as amode of low carbon traffic also gradually get attention. Therefore, the research on foot traffic system,which can guide the practice of pedestrian traffic work and promote the development of pedestrian trafficand even the entire city low carbon transport development, have the important meaning.Firstly, this paper summarized the research status of the pedestrian traffic system at home and abroad,and proposed the technical route in the paper research. Secondly, in-depth analyzed the connotation of theconcept and characteristics of low carbon traffic, learned the importance of the concept of low carbontransport in the development of modern transportation. And it started from the role of foot traffic in thelow-carbon transportation system to clarify the important role of pedestrian traffic and the orientation ofpedestrian planning.Then, discussed in detail the basic theory of the pedestrian traffic system. It included the meaning ofpedestrian traffic system, composition and classification and so on. The effect on foot traffic developmentin our country the analyses of factors, and strive to master planning on foot traffic system of the city withthe direction of the key.In this study the foundation above, with our urban walking system present problems, this paper putforward the method and strategy of walking system in our cities, which can carry out the concept oflow-carbon traffic. It included the coordination of walk planning and urban planning、walking system itself（macro, micro）、the walk planning with other transport modes seamless planning strategy. Finally this paper mainly uses the strategies previously suggested, and the walking system in Xi’anhigh-tech zone to do the practical research. The last section of paper, systematically combed the ideas andconclusion, and proposed a direction of future research.
