With the development of the economy, an increasing number of electromotor isapplied in more manufacture fields as well as in our daily life. As it is getting more andmore important and prominent to protect the electromotor from burned up and avoideconomic losses in case of its malfunction, it has positive significance to invent anelectromotor with microcomputer and a set of protection devices. The main focus of thisthesis is on the research of the electromotor with comprehensive protection and controldevices that can be applied in small and medium electromotor.This thesis analyzes the common malfunction of electromotor and introduces relevantprotective principle and logical basis according to the electrical data of electromotor inmalfunction cases. Meanwhile the control schemes are also provided considering thecircumstances on site. For the convenience of the user in maintaining the device and inorder to save the cost of device manufacture, the electromotor with comprehensiveprotection and control devices is designed to be based on ARM platform and as separatemodules. Based on all above requirements, this thesis lists out the design of hardwarecircuit, mainly including power supply, input-output and telecommunication in mainmodule; design of data collection circuit in analog collecting module; design of LCDmonitoring circuit in LCD module; design of thermal resistance measuring circuit intemperature data collecting module, etc. The software of each module is also equipped inaccordance with the hardware. The application of ARM platform with operation systemshortens the time of research and increases its efficiency.The design of separate modules in electromotor with comprehensive protection andcontrol devices and each module with an embedded processor has its proper advantages.Nevertheless, this also brings about new problems. For instance, it is quite inconvenient tostore the key information and it is also complicated in telecommunication among modules,which are shown and analyzes in details, and optimal final solutions are provided as wellin this thesis.This thesis describes the design of electromotor with comprehensive protection andcontrol devices based on ARM platform according to the hard-and software platform mentioned above. It also carries out static simulation experiment by relay protection tester.The results of the experiments indicate that this equipment functions stably, reliably andaccurately, which fulfills all the requirement of the design.
