It is a feasible and efficient way to sample the traffic information through themoving vehicle in intelligent traffic system(ITS) which makes up for the drawbackof tradition way that need large investment and long period. In this paper, weintroduce a method to gather the traffic information used the GPS and GPRStechniques and design an intelligent vehicle to realize it.At first, This paper introduce the basic thoughts of how to sample the trafficinformation through the moving vehicle in intelligent traffic system(ITS) and thenintroduce the work principle and the structure of the system. It makes a description ofGPS and GPRS technology int two chapter and particularly discusses the NMEA0813protocols. Next it put emphasis on the hardware and software design of the vehicleteminal. We use the embedded system based on ARM7core as the hardware platformand design the circuit diagram. In software, we use the open source real-timeoperating system μC/OS-II. At last, we discuss how to port the μC/OS-II to ARM7core in detail and the method of programming based on μC/OS-II.The last section sums up the paper’s content and the word we have made andlook forward to the future’s work.
