Clothing,food,housing and transportation are the fundamental necessities of human life, while the architecture and clothing have always been the important parts of themes of social life. They have close relation with each other and have the similar origins. Right now, there are many scholars joined in the research on the intersection of the two fields. This article tries to explore the subtle relationship between contemporary architecture art and costume art, and probes into the enlightenment that clothing art gives to contemporary architecture.On the basis of architectural typology, architectural semiotics, architectural psychology, this article tries to build cross-cultural platform of architectural art and costume art, and uses theoretical research, case comparison, the synthesis method to explore the relationship between the contemporary architecture art and costume art.Studying from European costume history and architectural history this article found that there are similarities and differences between their artistic characteristics. There are more close relations in terms of function, space form, shape, aesthetic relevance. Then, through specific case studies of buildings and clothing, including function and the external expression, spatial morphological characteristics, expression of plastic art, discovered the similarities and differences. From these similarities and differences, this article explore the possibility of reference from costume art to contemporary architecture art and artistic creation in the functional space of flows, the modeling language, aesthetics, effectiveness and freedom epidermis.
