Steam turbine-compress, as gas delivery device, plays an important role in many areas ofnational economy. It is critical device of many enterprises. Further, enterprise’ benefit mostlydepends on whether connection compressor unit can operate safely, steadily, and efficiently.Controller of connection compressor unit is an important part which insures that the unit canoperate steadily. General control has attracted much attention of foreign enterprises. However,in China, the development of general controller of connection compressor unit is pretty slowand difficult to compete with foreign companies.Due to the development of microcomputer technology, DSP technology, and embeddedoperation system technology, it has become possible to design a controller of connectionsteam turbine-compress unit, which can respond faster, has sound algorithms, betterhuman-computer interface, and more flexible configuration. In this essay, according to thecharacteristic and control method of steam turbine and compressor, we deigned a general andintelligent controller for connection steam turbine-compress unit.The controller is made up of two parts: one is data acquiring and controlling unit, whichare responsible for condition data acquiring, control algorithm operation, controlling output,serial communication, and delivering condition data to intelligent display unit; the other isintelligent display unit, which is human-computer interface of controller, and is responsiblefor displaying condition data and record, alarm display, historical data record and display,changing operation parameters by users, inputting configuration data by engineers, savingand download. These two units exchange their data with shared storage.Tandem PID control and assisted PID are joined into the controlling algorithm for steamturbine. Besides, considering the characteristic of connection steam turbine-compress unit, weadd setting ratio offset function to the controller. Variable flow control is adopted forperforming compressor’s anti-surge. Also the function of valve jump is added to improve theability of anti-surge.To conclude, in this paper, we propose the overall design diagram for the controller,design all relative modules of hardware circuit, and dedicate design methods and results.
