In recent years, LED lighting industry has been making a rapid development in China,especially in the application which is in the forefront of the world. However, due to the lowstandardization level in LED lighting industry, the standard and test methods can’t keep upwith the application development needs. It is not only limits LED lighting industry to make afurther improve, but also leads to form a vicious circle of the competitive environment in theLED industry. So it is badly in need of an industry standardization of LED lighting. This papertries to bring Quality Function Deployment technology to the LED lighting area. The mainideas of QFD will guide to carry out the research of LED lamps of industrial standardization.With a LED street lamp as the research object, this paper aims to build up its keyperformance index set. Firstly, the "customer demand situation analysis" technique and"5W1H" technique are used to obtain the LED street lamp customers demand. In order to gainthe customer demand importance sequence, the "Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)" methodis applied to establish the correlation matrix among customer demands. Based on these works,it is easy to set up the "LED Street Lamp Quality Planning Matrix"; Second, it’s to deploy thetechnical characteristic of LED street lamps. The method of "Brainstorming" is applied tocarry out the initial index set of technical characteristics. Then, the information technology isused to get a more accurate index set which is based on the "evidence theory". So the nextwork is to build up relationship matrix about the customer requirements and technicalcharacteristics. The "customer demand&technical characteristics2d form of LED streetlamps" can be formed with that. Third, it’s to structure the house of quality (HOQ) model withthe help of QFD2000software. There are many matrixes to lead series of transformations inthe HOQ model, such as Quality Planning Matrix, Technical Characteristics Related Matrix,and Customer Demand&Technical Characteristics Related Matrix, etc. According to thesetransformations, the conversion of customer demands to technical characteristics comes true.And then the technical characteristics importance sequence can be exported. The final work isto establish the key performance indicators of LED street lamp.This study effectively applies QFD technology into the research on "LED Street LampKey Performance Indicators". The result based on the “customer voices" can not only leaddesigners to design a product meeting customer demand, but also guide QFD technology toapply in LED lighting industry standardization.
