Areas belonging to the art of painting and architecture, in the long river of history, they contact each other. Le Corbusier as lord and activists of the20thcentury modernarchitecture movement can be said that he plays an absolutely central in the movement ofmodern architecture and the role of the seed, his ideas have been leading the advance ofmodern architecture. And his architectural ideas generated, to a certain extent, thanks to hispractice in the field of painting. In the course of his architectural practice, he usually useexperience of painting exploration for thinking and working design, so between his thoughtof painting and architecture there is a subtle influence. Corbusier’s remarkableachievements in architecture, overwhelmed his painting’s promotion to architecturaldesign, forgetting that he is not only an architect, and was also a painter. Most of the studyof the master, very few people from the point of painting on his studies and his works, theyjust dealt with the buildings on its merits. This research based on analysis of painting from the perspective of Le Corbusier’spaintings and architectural work, exploring his inner link between architecture andpainting.Firstly, taking analysis of Le Corbusier’s painting’s art source.Which contains twoparts. To begin with, doing introduction about the background of the art in that age.Secondly, analysing Le Corbusier’s art works which affected by other painting schools, anddivide his painting into3stages--period of enlightenment, period of pure, and in the post ofpurely period. Then exploring three periods of his painting style independently and findingtheir links with modern painting.Secondly, taking analysis of Le Corbusier’s relationships between painting and hisarchitecture, finding their common ground. There contains two main parts. First, thearchitectural design is divided into three stages which are corresponding to the3periods ofhis painting. Second, analysing the common ground between his painting and building.Mainly from4aspects, they respectively are, shape, perspective, transparency, and thecolour.Thirdly, taking analysis of Le Corbusier’s thought between painting and his building.Mainly from the analysis of ideal and the sense of order. Finally, putting forward my own views after the analysis of Le Corbusier’s effect ofarchitectural thought on future generations.
