The existing bridge health monitoring and performance assessment system, is mainly directed against the existing bridge of the working conditions and working environment during the operational phase for real-time automatic monitoring and evaluation of its structural performance in real time, and the monitoring information received will be used to analysis the health status of the structure, evaluation of the bridge to withstand static and dynamic load capacity and structural safety and reliability, for bridge operations, management, maintenance and provide scientific basis for decision making.This paper will use two basic theoretical and practical aspects, relies on the QingLongChang arch bridge of steel tubular filled concrete in Chengdu and do the existing bridge health monitoring and performance assessment system. Firstly We analyse the characteristics and difficulties of the bridge, and the surrounding environment on the special requirements of the system; then the content and monitoring methods for monitoring, sensor selection and reasonable method of laying, damage identification and performance evaluation of the theory and methods were used study discusses the application of modal kinetic method for damage identification region, we explore a practical, simple, easy to implement method:the’ extreme value theory based on the design envelope method’for more on the existing bridges factors, multi-parameter, multi-state the injury diagnosis and performance evaluation; through targeted consider the specific characteristics of the bridge structure, construction status and operating history, the structure of finite element modeling, the bridge of the most unfavorable load operations the role of computational analysis, considering the possible failure modes and combinations, obtained control value under the bridge at the design load limits of each sensor position, its value as a benchmark to judge the actual operation of the bridge in the dynamic response of, and accordingly the alarm of structural damage, damage to the structure of the specific components and damage the area to locate, and evaluate the carrying capacity of the structure, the custody of measures for the next decision-making basis.In this paper, The existing bridge damage detection and performance evaluation methods can provide a reference for other types of complex urban highway bridges and bridge-service monitoring.
