With the development of China’s nuclear power industry and nuclear technologywidely used in many industries, the potential danger of radioactive contamination andnuclear accidents increased. The monitoring of the radioactive contamination of thesudden nuclear accident, nuclear power plants and nuclear facilities and other relevantenvironmental issues has given rise to the widespread concern of our government andthe public. So the radioactive dose value in the monitoring of an ambient air intoradiation protection the primary task.The beta, gamma, х-ray in the air is an important factor of the evaluation ofenvironmental radioactivity, many radiation accidents are due to lack of highsensitivity instruments of these rays. Therefore, under the premise of the basis of thetheory of nuclear radiation and the analysis of the existing nuclear radiation dosimeterbased on the present dosimeter versatility strong drawback, this article designed a newtype of nuclear radiation dosimeter. Compared with the existing nuclear radiationdetection equipment, the dosimeter is low-power, compact, portable, real-timemonitoring, within the time zone storage of the radiation curve and so on.In this paper, the design of the individual radiometer based on GM counting tubeand the MSP430microcontroller is new personal radiation dosimeter, relative to theordinary radiation dosimeters, it is advanced in low-power, portable, continuous work.Power module designed more cleverly, the lithium battery voltage convert to thesystem power supply voltage+3.3V, then the system supply voltage converse to thepower supply voltage for GM tube+500V DC, and the entire power module isdesigned to minimize size and reduce power consumption. The dosimeter can workcontinuously for some time within the radiation values and the corresponding timerecorded, the sampling frequency can be set. Real-time time-based exposure toradiation curve can be displayed On the LCD and the PC software, and records can bestored. Overall, the characteristics of nuclear radiation dosimeter is low powerconsumption, small size, the radiation values stored in the time zone, a wide-range, high precision. The nuclear radiation dosimeter can provide strong protection for themonitoring of nuclear radiation.The completion of this thesis:(1) According to nuclear radiation basic theoretical knowledge, basic principlesand methods of measurement of nuclear radiation to introduce the basic principles ofthe dosimeter.(2) Describes the overall design of the personal radiation dosimeter and thefunctionality of each module, in the analysis based on comparison of four commonlyused detectors in accordance with the GM counter as detector elements.(3) A detailed description of the works of each module and each module circuitdesign, PCB map production instrument.(4) Personal radiation dosimeter’s software design, design flow chart of eachmodule and the C language program.(5) Personal radiation dosimeter’s hardware debugging, software debugging andperformance testing.
