Research On Conservation And Renewal Of Shangheng Street In Ancient Sanhe-town

The ancient Sanhe-town is a typical town near the river in the middle part of Anhui province. Its late Qing Dynasty and unique architectural style are of great historical research value. The Shangheng street is the best representative of the history and culture about the ancient town. The research on conservation and renewal of the material and non-material elements in Shangheng street, which will have a good guide for other streets in the future, also for the conservation and renewal of the ancient town.In this paper, the material and non-material elements two major aspects of research, conducted in-depth analysis of the status of the Shangheng street. Which the material elements of the composition is the focus of the analysis, mainly from the point of view "Figure" and "bottom" on the Shangheng street, the street space and the buildings, on either side, that is the whole space, node, interface, landscape and architecture of the five major aspects. Non-material elements constitute the main aspects analyzed from three aspects of the history, culture, social life and business activities. Then, the problems are identified from the two aspects, after that, the measures are put forward for the problems. Finally, the author put forward four principles about conservation and renewal. The Near-term and long-term focus of the conservation, who is more important. And the author put forward in the future, make more efforts on non-material elements for conservation and renewal.
