The history district in the city owns the long history, culture and the business tradition, continuing the development grain of the city, the witness wears the rise and fall and the change of the city. And then, the author sums up practical theories and successful experience of renewal of the typical historical street area. Secondly, Taking the City God Temple historical district in Xi'an for research object, the author carried on detailed analysis from historical origin, multi-religional culture, traditional commerce and the present condition of street area, and sum up some problems which obstruct the development of the street area and discover some latent advantages which promote the street area. Finally, beginning from three aspects of the humanities history, traditional commerce and the material environment, the author puts forward the concrete measures of conversation and renewal.
