In the face of double pressures from both energy crisis and environmentalpollution, the world is focusing on the development of renewable energy. Thebiomass fuel which is made from crop straw is a renewable energy derived fromsolar energy. Based on its rich resources, low carbon content, cleanness, nopollution and being capable of replace part of fossil fuels such as coal and oil,worldwide attention is increasingly paid to it. However, due to there’s no successmodel of using crop stalks as a substitute for fossil fuels, a large number of cropstraws are burned which lead to the waste of biomass resources and aggravation ofair pollution. Therefore, it is urgent to develop a molding equipment to makebiomass fuel from crop straw.At present, biomass fuel molding equipment is barely researched. Arming atenergy saving, environmental protection and low costing, a kind of moldingequipment is designed in the paper. Firstly, according to the main performanceindex and molding process, the structure of the modeling equipment, including thetransmission scheme, the hammer mill, the straw conveyer and the straw bindingmachine, are designed. And then orthogonal test of the hammer mill isaccomplished. Secondly, based on the working requirements, hydraulic system ofthe molding equipment, including determination of the main parameters, drafting ofthe system diagram and the performance checking etc, is designed. Finally, due tothe molding equipment controlling demands, the electrical control system of theequipment is designed, including the design of schematic wiring diagram, theelectrical components selection and PLC programming etc.Molding equipment is the machine tool of making biomass fuels. The researchin this paper provides some certain theory bases for promoting and developing thebiomass fuels molding technology, and lays the foundation for the commercialpromotion of biomass fuels.
