Since the reform and openness, the economic has rapidly development in China,socioeconomic system also has profound changes. The most important thing is that consumer areincreasingly high demands of commodity carrier with the development of society change. Peopleno longer satisfied with the simple Commodity Exchange, has a new request for living, shopping,transportation etc.So, many new commercial streets with different regional culture and citycharacteristic has bring up. The commercial streets not only promoted the development of urbaneconomy, but also is a microcosm of the city appearance.The commercial streets construction inevitably produce some problems because of theacceleration of urbanization process and the city expansion, commercial buildings and the streetlandscape become "the same " tendency. How to show the natural style and cultural history incommercial streets, and how to set up a city style, it need to know about a city’s culturalcharacteristics, and use it in the business landscape construction elements design. Make people toappreciate extraordinary charm of a city through the city’s commercial streets, and promote thecity commercial streets construction’s development and innovation, keep and inheritance of thecity culture.This paper focuses on the cultural urban characteristics influence and effect of commerciallandscape. According to a city’s history and culture, natural environment and urban industrialfactors comb the city of culture characteristics, define the character of the city. And establishedthe spiritual basis of the city, used spiritual basis application to urban commercial landscapeconstruction. Marked the characters of the city in commercial landscape design process, andclassified the design element of commercial landscape design, summarizes the design principleand design method. The structure of the city commercial landscape elements is the materialfoundation of commercial landscape, How to combining the spiritual basis and materialfoundation together, let the spirit lead the material foundation, achieve a harmonious interactionin design process, reflect the city image and characteristics, it is the main contents of this paper.Full paper of six parts:Part one: Explained scientifically the paper’s reviews, purpose and innovations. And brieflycompared of domestic and foreign similar subject research situation and development trend,determine the subject research solutions and the frame of the paper.Part two: Through the study of the culture theory which conclude the concept of culturalidentity, and analyzes the cultural characteristics of the connotation, works out the three elementsof cultural characteristics. And through culture characteristics of Nanjing and Shenyang toillustrate the content in city culture characteristic.Part three: Defined the commercial landscape, and analyses the connotation. Summarizedthe element of business landscape, we analyze the business landscape design in constructionelements role. Finally studied the construction elements effect in business landscape design.The first three parts which adopts a literature review way concluded this paper’s conceptand theory.Part four is the most important part in this paper, through the field survey and summarizes concluded the design method. First through the comparison of the commercial blockdevelopment. Second analysised the relationship between city cultural characteristics andcommercial landscape element. Then summarized the seven principles of business landscapedesign. Finally sums up four design methods in business landscape design though ShangHai newfield.Part five used the four design methods in a real case-Shanghai Shangjie LOFT-fivedimensional space creative industry park’s landscape design. introduces the project backgroundanalysis and design concept from the city culture characteristics, and show four aspects in designmethods.Part six is the conclusion, which summarized the paper content, concept and definitionand,also made a prospect of the business landscape future development.
