At present, rotary drilling rig, as the pile foundation engineering equipment, can dill argillic horizon, sandlot, pebble bed and lithosphere, it’s fit for most of soil and geological conditions. As more and more high-power equipments have being used, energy-saving control has been strongly concerned by the international society. The energy-saving technologies used in rotary drilling rig, has been mellower. Main winch systerm is one of the most important work attachments for rotary drilling rig, theoretical and experimental study for the recovery of the potential energy when the main winch descends is done. The main research works are as follows:1. The energy consumption about drilling is analyzed by the statistical methods. It carries out that the average rate of load is27.7%and the average fuel consumption rate is10%when the main winch descends. The mathematical model about load is discussed when the main winch descends by using law of conservation of energy, equation of static equilibrium and flow equation, then the maximal recyclable energy and the variational load can be got when the main winch falls.2. The energy recovery manner for main winch is discussed, a energy recovery scheme used the variable motor and the supercapacitors is advanced. On that basis, as the SWMD22rotary drilling of study, the proposal design, the type selection and parameter matching about system element is doned.3. The mathematical model about main element in the energy recovery system is built. Then a simulative model about the main winch which is based on AMEsim environment is built. Then the validity of the simulation model will be validated by the experimental study on the SWDM22. The experimental results show that the hydraulic system model of main winch has extremely high accuracy.4. In view of the characteristic about the descend of main winch, the control strategy is worked out, and the fuzzy-PID control is used in order to achieve the stationarity of the descend velocity and the high recovery. By the combinative simulation, the viability about the scheme is discussed, and the main factors which affect the recovery rate are analyzed. Simulation results show that the energy recovery system performs well, and the recovery effect is obvious.5. The data about the performance of the rotary drilling rig is collected by the wireless data acquisition system on the construction plant. Then the energy consumption situation is explained by the statistical analysis about the data. It shows that when the main winch descends, the average rate of load is27.7%, the average fuel consumption is20L/h, and the average fuel consumption rate is11.6%. However the engine is idle and part of the potential energy is recovered in the energy recovery system.
