Because the structures of the portal-rigid frames are clear distribution of force bearing, light weight, installation conveniences, they are widely used in light steel plants. In steel making engineering process, because the traditional roof supports have a lot of bars, unlovely, they cannot meet the demands of the development of modern ironworks, and the portal-rigid frames are widely used in the design of the ironworks. Heavy-duty ironworks use the portal-rigid frames, Current specifications clearly define that the design need structural computation and theoretical analysis. This paper considers typical case in the engineering, makes deep research in plants layout, element design, node design. The theory and the simulation show length calculation formula of the steel rigid column at steel moment connection, and prove the correctness and reliability of it; calculate stress of column in out-plane with crane load. Furthermore, this paper analyze the axially-temperature stress of ironwork, and p-△effect of the crane load by sap2000. This paper wants to solve the complex problems in heavy-duty ironworks use the portal-rigid frames.
