The Analysis Of The Economy Of The District Cooling System

The district cooling system (DCS) has become a very mature field of coolingtechnology in many countries and regions, in recent years; the district cooling systemprojects has also been applied in a very large-scale in China. This paper describes thedifferent forms of district cooling system projects and combines with the actual projectsexamples and builds the mathematical models, then, it reaches some problems that shouldbe paid attention to in the design and construction of the district cooling system projectsand also some technical means should be taken in order to achieve the economy of thedistrict cooling system.Firstly, this paper introduces the application and development of the DCS projects athome and abroad, and also it introduces several cooling methods and cooling modescombined with the district cooling system projects, then it makes a certain degree ofcomparison to the characteristic of the several cooling methods of district cooling systemand the economic impact on the system.Secondly, by building the mathematical model and taking the analysis of the actualexamples of Zhongguancun West district cooling project, the paper obtains the economyand the impact on the initial energy efficiency of the district cooling system projects,when it combined with the thermoelectric cooling system and the ice storage coolingsystem.Finally, by analyzing of the energy model of the pipe network of the district coolingsystem projects, it brings some technical measures could be taken to optimize thesecondary pump in the district cooling system; by comparing to the relationship betweenthe cooling radius changes and the energy consumption of the frequency conversionair-conditioning system, it gets the optimal cooling radius of the district cooling systemprojects in theoretic.The technology of district cooling system is just a form of air-conditioning,compared with the traditional centralized air-conditioning systems, it has the uniqueadvantages, but there are some certain preconditions that the district cooling systemprojects can achieve its economy. only to meet these conditions, the DCS projects may bepossible to achieve its economic and exert its advantages fully.
