The operation flow chart, main components and technical characteristics of three dry cooling systems in power plants are analyzed in the present studies. On the basis of the actual power plant project, the design schemes are proposed and compared by combining the dry cooling system design practice. The technology economic characteristics of the direct dry cooling system, indirect dry cooling systems with mixed condenser and surface condenser are discussed. The correlating equation between the annual total fee difference and standard coal price for direct and indirect dry cooling system is fitted, thus the critical coal price is obtained. Based on this equation, the dry cooling system adopted by this project is proposed, that is, one cooling tower for two generating units, surface condenser and vertical configuration of air-cooled heat exchanger outside the cooling tower. It is of benefit to the system selection and optimal design of the dry cooling system for the technology economic comparison and measures presented in this study.
