The ancient commercial pedestrian street is an important carrier of urban historical and cultural heritage.lt continues the city’s traditional folk style, which has high historical and cultural value. With the development of business, people have greater demand on related service facilities in business environment. The ancient commercial pedestrian street has various historical and cultural connotation, but there are barely business environment fits consumers’ tastes. Therefore, this paper will conduct an in-depth study from the point of view of the green space landscape of the ancient commercial pedestrian street.There are several methods in the paper, such as literature induction method, survey research method and comprehensive analysis method, etc. These methods are used to investigate and analyze the green space landscape of the three ancient commercial pedestrian streets in Changsha. Finally, the problems of the greenbelt landscape can be discovered. Furthermore, environmental behavior theory, public participation theory and cognitive intention theory are applied to the designing points of the green space landscape elements of the ancient commercial pedestrian street. What’s more, the design features presented in the paper are practically put into actual cases, which to verify the rationality and scientificity of the theoretical research in this essay. The main findings are as follows:First and foremost, through the field survey on present status of the green space landscape of the three ancient commercial pedestrian streets in Changsha, the problems can be depicted below:Ⅰ lack of reasonable transportation; Ⅱ deficiency of humanized design; ⅢSeriously short of the natural landscape; IVWeak cultural connotation, etc.Hence, people’s demand in commercial environments, such as amenity, security, privacy and ecological feature, are drawn in conclusion by interviews and questionnaires.Besides, according to the design requirement of the green space landscape of ancient commercial Pedestrian Street, the design principles in two aspects can be described as follow:Firstly, on plant landscape, five design patterns are presented, namely, tree pool type, flower type, garden type, climbing type, and movable type.Secondly, on environmental matching facilitates and small garden ornaments, culture should be highlighted which is based on safety and meeting functional demands.Additionally, to take Taiping Street of Changsha for example, the transformation design scheme could come forward in four aspects, such as the traffic conditions, node landscape, cultural landscape and plant landscape. According to the weak commercial functions of ancient commercial pedestrian street, and the reality of functional enhancements of the places of historical interest,"addition and subtraction" method will be used in the overall transformation design."Addition" means to expand the green area and to increase public service facilities while "subtraction" means to remove part of buildings and facilities with poor conservational value, and to release some streets for activities or cultural exhibition.The transformation of the green space landscape of the ancient commercial pedestrian street should highlight prominent historical and cultural connotations. Not only to improve public service facilities, but also to create a pleasant natural environment. So that the ancient commercial pedestrian street settings are in harmony with commerce, culture, and circumstances.
