Because of the backward techonology, negligent design, shoddy construction and aging of structures, many kinds of structural damage may occurs for already built bridges during the design life, which will reduce the safety and durability of the structure and shorten the duration of normal operating life. To avoid engineering accident and extend the structural service life, it is necessary to reinforce and repair the structures.After10years since the opening of one highway, many bridges appear serious damage. In this paper-the old bridges have been specificly analyzed and researched on the damage situation, and the corresponding schemes of bridge reinforcement and repair have been put forward.Through the example analysis of the damaged bridges, in the light of the upper structure’s main breadages of damaged bridges, which inculdes the vertical and oblique crack of reinforced concrete T main beam, the vertical crack of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete clapboard of T beam, and the transverse crack of prestressed concrete bottom plate of box beam, the application of the stick steel method(planting stick method), replacement of bearings in the box girder bridge methd and steel plate method in the bridges’reinforcement and repair the have been thoroughly discribed.
