As the national economy growing, people’s living standards is rising, domesticcommercial economy is now in the trend of rapid development. Commercial space is asan important carrier of commercial activities, and has become a banner of level ofdevelopment of cities. Therefore, the commercial space also plays an increasinglyimportant role in commercial activities. The design of commercial space gets complexeffects of many factors in the application process. Especially in the context of themarket economy, through the unique personality of the stores are designed to increasesales has become one of the concerns of the enterprise, that is to show the corporateculture by commercial space design differentiated appearance, and thus improve theircompetitiveness. There was a need to strengthen the research for appearance ofdifferentiation of the commercial space.This paper uses the theory of psychology, architecture, art and other disciplines,and provides a strong theoretical basis for the commercial space difference ofappearance issues, and through the literature review, field investigation, case analysisand analysis summary comprehensive application, and analyzes the theory ofcommercial space and the actual case, finds intuitive and practical basis for the theory.The paper starts with the commercial space, design trends, the design elements of thedesign elements of the commercial space, and discusses the differentiating factor of thecommercial space. And the paper analyzes the application of appearance of commercialspace difference, the important factors for the differentiation of commercial space. Thefactors include the light environment, visual illusion, mood, psychological factors,functional characteristics, as well as sales of goods and services type, etc.. Combinedwith the actual cases, the paper studies and analyzes the appearance of commercialspace differentiation.The design of commercial space in the modern sense is bound to more diversified,complex, technology and humane characteristics. Its concept will also have differentinterpretations and extension. From the perspective of analysis of a development, therelated factors of modern commercial space formats a huge system, and a number offactors must be considered to improve this great system, how to improve the great valuefor the design services of the commercial space by those factors. Therefore, the studyhas some actual reference value for commercial space design, and has some referencefor the theoretical research and practical application of commercial space in China.
