At present, the car industry is on an age of rapid development. For the characteristic of car body engineering itself, it’s the most rapidly growing field in the car industry. The car body engineering development has a history of more than one hundred years, the change of the car body is huge in this years. The car body production level is significant important for complete vehicle production capacity. Generally speak, the BIW contains300-500sheet metal, after55to75welding, and finally into the BIW. The BIW welding’s efficiency and the quality of welding plays an important role in the whole BIW engineering.By using the simulation software-DELMIA to complete BIW’s fixture and welder’s modeling and complete the robot’s selection and then comprehensive up again to simulated the welding process. Before the construction of the production line the simulation is very important, it not only can shorten the construction period of the welding line, reduce the construction cost, also it can improve the welding production efficiency.This paper first introduces the structure of the BIW’s welding line’s production and distribution, and detailed analysis each location welder, robot,fixture of the BIW.And simulation with the welder, robots and fixture modeling of the front floor assembly in a virtual environment. The paper to study include:1) Analysis each location’s technology characteristics and design the fixture of digital model. Analysis the spot welding of the front floor.2) Analyzes the the characteristics of the front floor in BIW and to improve production efficiency.3) Using GA to work out the assembly of the front floor’s path planning.4) Using off-line programming in the welding process.This paper is about the modeling and simulation for the robot workstationin of the assembly of front floor in virtual environment. And to promote production efficiency and the design quality of the workstation. And the result has the very good progressive reference value.
