The Reseach Of Traditonal Elements Used In Wang Shu’s Work

As one of the four ancient civilizations, China has a long history and unique culture. Chinese traditional architecture has its own system in the process of history and civilization, and has also made brilliant achievements. The traditional interpretation and expression is differ in different background, different historical circumstances as time going by. In the modern architectural design, the traditional elements is also a development process. Since the Western modern architecture was introduced to China, the old generation of architects have already been done to explore the fusion of traditional architecture and modern architecture, and summarized quite a lot of experience in practice. In the background of highly developed current socio-economic, the architectural design ideas or people’s aesthetic sense has undergone great changes.Today’s construction industry has launched a new boom of searching the connections of the traditional and modern road.On the road of exploring, Chinese architect Wang Shu has been recognized by the architect field. His work has gone beyond the problems of urbanization,not only retains the cultural heritage of the local, but also demonstrates the international design.Under the current context, interpretation and analysis of typical works is necessary and has far-reaching practical significance.As a starting point of my article,the explore of Chinese architects is recognized by the architect field and as a breakpoint,the expressions of traditional cuture is very important for contemporary architecture.By interpreting and analyzing the use of the traditional elements in the Wang Shu’s works, summarized his understanding and application of the traditional elements of excavation depth, and then on his design philosophy.In this paper, the use of traditional elements of Wang Shu architectural creation is divided into four aspects to analyze:the architectural space, architectural form, building materials and architectural color. Wang Shu in the building creation, through to the characteristics of the draw on traditional space, shape and spatial organization of space, organization and flow line layout, to express the flavor and charm of the traditional space; draw on the external form of traditional architecture, detail, using the traditional symbols to convey the traditional forms of reproduction and innovation to the architectural form; color reproduction of traditional building materials and the use of traditional construction techniques and building materials to express respect for tradition and heritage; the use of traditional color mix and match to the building ways to express the traditional spirit and content. On this basis, in turn Wang Shu design philosophy summed up the order to three points:the pursuit of the natural form of narrative, experience, and return to the natural way of creation.Through the above analysis and summary, I hope this can provide some reference for modern architectural heritage road.
