A Research Of The Traditional Urban Color In The North Of China And Its Revelation To Modern Cities

The traditional urban city color had shown harmonious and orderly appearance under the influence of the rationality. After the feudal dynasty, the construction of urban color was out of the constraints of he rationality, at the same time factors affecting under color becames more and more diverse. The urban color had been in the unprecedented disorder and the confusion state.To control and guide the urban city color was urgently needed. There are two ways to find the practical methods which can control and guide the urban city. The frist way is to research the traditional urban city color and have a comprehensive clear understanding of it, then develop the good and discard the bad. The other way is to learn modern experience of Western theory and practice of urban color.This article studies the traditional urban city color in the north of China from esthetics point of view, with the basic theory of the philosophy, the sociology, the history, the landscape architecture, the urban planning study. The first part of the article study on the basis of traditional Chinese aesthetics and clarify the color development of the raditional urban city color in the north of China. The second part of the article specific research several typical cities's color. The third part of the article analyze the formation mechanism and the controlling means of traditional urban city color in the north of China. The last part of the article combined with modern urban color formation mechanism, proposed that should use the manual intervention the way to establish the urban color order, and experimental proposed that one kind establishes the urban color order the mentality.
