Design is part of culture from the view of the history of design. Design isinfluenced inevitably by cultural renaissance in the history background of Chinesecultural renaissance. In the product design field, the influence of cultural renaissancemainly displays in there are more and more symbols or graphics of classic traditionalculture were applied to the design of product design, it greatly rich the appearancestyle of modern product and satisfy aesthetic interest of people in the meantime.Butfrom the view of the product, the surfaces of most so-called Chinese style product werejust applying a symbol or graphic of classic traditional culture, and the inner structureand functional configuration etc of the product were not changed almost. Take theQing Huaci mobile phone of BBK for example, the surface of it was just using some"QingHua". The main function of a symbol or graphic is transfering information, andthe role of design is solving problems based on peoples’ requirement. It seems sosuperficial if the product appearance were just using a symbol or graphic of classictraditional culture. In this background this paper puts forward the followingideas, abstract the eternal essence of the theory of LaoZi"You wu xiang sheng", andthen apply it to the research and analysis of product innovation design, rather than onlyapplying the symbol or graphic related to the theory of LaoZi"You wu xiang sheng"to product appearance design. The main purpose is metaphysically applying the theoryof LaoZi"You wu xiang sheng" to the product innovation design, meanwhile it providetheoretical guidance for metaphysically inheriting and developing classic Chinesetraditional culture.
